Diego Lainez has not had many appearances this season under the command of Manuel Pellegrini at Betis who is in the final of the Copa del Rey and is in the fight for European positions.

“We have never repeated a 11 complete throughout the year being close to a final (Copa del Rey) or not being close. Both Diego Lainez and any other player , when the squad is complete, someone has to stay out. Luckily, for now we only have two injured”, said the Argentine coach at a press conference.
In March, it was known according to various sources that Lainez was upset by the “cheating” of his coach Manuel Pellegrini. The Chilean strategist promised more opportunities for the Mexican as a result of the constant offers that came for him. The 17 of January, Pellegrini had expressed that Lainez would stay in the team and that he would have more regularity in the Sevillian team but since there he has only played less 50 minutes in more than 15 matches. Therefore, the Mexican’s aspirations to shine in Europe have been diminishing. Betis would win his match four times tied for second place with 60 points and in which with 5 days remaining d would leave the question of which teams will have a place in the Champions League and which will go to the Europa League.
