The coach of Barcelona, Xavi Hernández, urged his players to make a “clean slate” with the elimination of the Europa League at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt

, marked by the massive presence of German fans at the Camp Nou, and the goal was to ensure qualification for the next edition of the Champions League.

In the press conference prior to Monday’s league match against Cádiz, the coach from Egar trusts that “this time yes” the club’s fans will come to the Camp Nou to cheer on the team in the first of the “eight finals” that the team has left to achieve the goal of finishing in the top four.

“Entering the ‘Champions’ depends on us, winning LaLiga no”, Xavi recalled referring to his team’s options to hunt down the leader of LaLiga, Real Madrid, which enjoys 12 advantage points and that this Sunday is measured against Sevilla, third classified.

The press appearance was still marked by the elimination in the League Europe and the ‘tide’ of Eintracht supporters who occupied an important part of the Camp Nou seats.

Xavi described what happened last Thursday by the players and coaching staff: “When we left the hotel, I already felt that it was starting badly. We couldn’t enter through the first tunnel, they threw everything at us, they robbed us in our own house, it was a bad night in every way, institutionally and sportingly” .

In this sense, the coach of the Barça team described what happened in the stands as an “error” and hopes that the club will find “a solution” so that it does not happen again.

In any case, Xavi stressed that the presence of German fans “is not an excuse” because your team was not “comfortable” at the game level throughout the knockout round of the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

In this sense, he admitted that his team has not been at the best level in recent games against Eintracht and Levante. “We have lost more balls than ever in recent games”, lamented Xavi, who added that the last European bump “is part of the process” since he took over the Barça bench last November.

Xavi expects against Cádiz a match similar to the one against Eintracht in which the team González “will come to defend himself,” he warned.

💬 Xavi, about tomorrow’s game: “Cádiz will be a tough rival. There are eight left finals again and at least we have to be in the Champions League. We hope that the fans are with us because the other day they conditioned us a little”https://t.co/FPnzGkLQLU— Mundo Deportivo (@mundodeportivo) April 17, 2022

“We have to keep believing in what we are working on. We are going for the good way but the resu ltados have to be arriving . We have to show our pride and at least be in the ‘Champions’ next year”, he concluded.
