According to the Mexican government, the National Institute of Migration (INM) of the Ministry of the Interior, “ rescued” between January 1 and 13 last April, to 115 ,226 migrant persons during their entry and transit through national territory.
Of them, 97,730 are of legal age (69,868 male migrants and 15,862 female migrants) and 17,649 minors (,226 children and 7,270 girls).
Among the group of minors, 14,105 were accompanied by an adult or guardian and 3,544 were traveling alone. All of them remained under the tutelage and protection of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) in various entities.

As part of the administrative procedure to define its legal status in the country, it was identified what 14,965 came from Honduras; 15,954 from Guatemala; Y 17,907 from Cuba.
Likewise, 8,270 of Nicaraguan nationality; 6, 931 of El Salvador, and 40,352 from other nations. Of this last item, 6,188 are people of extracontinental origin: 2,754 from Asia, 2,99 from Europe, 2,352 from Africa and 12 from Oceania.
The five states of the country where the largest number of foreign migrants were located were Chiapas, with 25,794; Mexico City, 13,213; Baja California, ,507; Tabasco, ,99; and Veracruz, 7,730.
According to different organizations, the arrests, which the INM calls “rescue” , are a reflection of the record migratory flow that the region is experiencing towards the United States, whose Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP) detected more than 1,507,000 of undocumented immigrants on the border with Mexico in the fiscal year 2021, which ended in September.
Mexico deported more than 97, foreigners in 2021, according to data from the Migration Policy Unit of the country’s Ministry of the Interior.
