In a movie finale and with one man less, the Pumas defeat Rayados de Monterrey and get into the Liguilla positions

After playing 45 minutes with a man less and holding the zero the whole match, stopping each attack of Rayados of Monterrey, the UNAM Pumas managed to nail the albiazules two goals in compensation time and kept three gold points that put them in position number 7 of the general table of the Liga MX.

After having an irregular performance throughout the Closure Tournament 2022, the varsity team woke up and devoured the Monterrey residents when they were least expected to do so.

After the expulsion of their scorer Juan Dinenno in the final stretch of the first half, the duel leaned in favor of Monterrey and in the rest of the match Pumas suffered from the onslaught of Rayados who they were forced to back down, but the felines never gave up the attack and tried to bother the rival team as much as possible; however, the arrivals of the people from Monterrey were more dangerous and constant, making Alfredo Talavera the momentary figure of the meeting.

Near the end of the match, a shot from Maxi Meza shook the left post of the goal of Pumas and it seemed that it announced the next fall of the auriazul frame; however, the opposite happened, when the 90 minutes were up and Rayados turned to the front to assert the condition of one more man he had, the feline box found the hole and made a lethal drop that ended with the first goal by Washington Corozo, who had 23 minutes on the field and showed the power of a refreshment man: he beat the entire Monterrey defense and finished the play with a right-handed shot, at the height of the penalty spot, which doubled his hands goalkeeper Andrada and slipped into the back of the net.

Just two minutes later, when 90′, Corozo appeared again to sign his double, once again displaying his speed. The Ecuadorian took the ball from a quarter of the field to the rival area, where he shot Andrada from more or less the same distance as in the first goal, only this time he sent the ball to the other side and down.

With this result, Pumas once again dreams of the Liguilla, with three games remaining to finish the regular phase of the tournament, while also thinking about the Concachampions final, same which will play next 27 April at the University Stadium and on May 4 at Lumen Field against Seattle Sounders.
