Barcelona’s supporters will not attend this Monday’s league match against Cádiz as a sign of protest due to the massive presence of Barcelona fans at the Camp Nou Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.
This was announced in a statement published on Twitter by the animation groups that are located in one of the goals of the Barcelona stadium, which they described as “infamy” and “social humiliation” what happened last Thursday in the duel that, in addition, meant the elimination of Barça from the second European competition.
“ The events that occurred on Thursday make us see ourselves forced to take action, as we did during the match and on other occasions, and precisely for this reason we will not attend the next match between FC Barcelona and Cadiz“, indicates the statement.
According to the figures made public by the club, 37.550 fans attended the game with a season ticket, they were sold 34.440 tickets to the general public, 5. were sent tickets to Eintracht Frankfurt, as as established by UEFA regulations, and 2.440 invitations were reserved for the highest body in European football.
But finally, Eintracht Frankfurt fans flocked to the Camp Nou stands , who bought tickets avoiding the club’s controls by blocking credit cards and German IP addressesor purchased tickets from Camp Nou season ticket holders.

In the statement, the group of the animation stands denounces the “perversion of the ‘seiente lliure’ (‘free seat’) system” that the club has promoted in recent seasons, which “has facilitated the access of tourists and contrary hobbies through a policy of unaffordable prices for the culé public”.
However, he points out: “The events that occurred this season exceed any limit and unnecessarily endanger the social mass of Barça”.
In this sense, the statement regrets that “the invasion” of German fans went “totally unnoticed” before the match by the club’s security department and the Mossos d’Esquadra. And he wonders: “If it was a surprise or if inaction has been promoted to get three million at the box office.”
