Three police officers are shot after shooting with a suspect in Kansas

Three police officers were shot after a suspect fired at the officers before being shot to death, in Kansas, the police reported. local authorities.

The three officials were responding to reports of a Suspicious black Jeep Liberty in Cowley County, about 50 miles southeast of Wichita, this Friday afternoon.

The vehicle was parked on the side of a highway five miles from the town of Winfield. The officers approached the car and contacted the driver, but she did not comply with the order to get out of the truck

, reported the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) this Friday night.

When the officers tried to remove the woman from the truck, she pulled out a pistol and began shooting, Cowley County authorities said.

All three police officers were shot, according to Sheriff Dave Falletti, but the A woman was also injured and died at the scene.

One of the officers sustained serious injuries, but is expected to recover, and the other two were taken care of and are in good condition.

The woman, identified as Andrea C. Barrow, of 32 years old, was killed after the exchange of fire when she started the fire.

One of the officers was flown to Wichita, while the two others were taken to Wesley Medical Center in stable condition.

“We simply do not know at this time the events that led to this (the shooting), other than the vehicle being called suspicious,” Falletti said.

“Investigators were following up on that lead and that’s when this happened.”

The bailiff requested the assistance of the KBI, who had taken over the case and had been on the scene since 3: 00 in the afternoon.

Other agencies also made themselves available, including the Office of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Arkansas City Police and Winfield Police.

For its part, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office posted a message on the social network Facebook sending prayers for the injured officers.

“We are sending prayers for our neighbors at the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office. Please keep the Deputies and everyone involved in your thoughts or prayers.”
