Weather systems estimate a holiday weekend with severe storms across much of the United States, specifically for many in the Southeast and northeast, including possible isolated tornadoes, while a snowfall is likely from Montana to Michigan.

Furthermore, New Orleans, Jackson, Mississippi, Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta have numerous rounds of rain this Saturday and Sunday.

This Saturday, strong to severe thunderstorms will spread from Dallas to Wilmington , North Carolina.

Also the main threats are isolated tornadoes, very strong winds, hail and frequent lightning.

It is also likely that there will be severe storms this coming Sunday from Shreveport, Louisiana, to Tallahassee, Florida.

Much of the showers and thunderstorms will bring less than two inches of rain in total, although some stronger storms could generate heavy downpours, falling three to five inches.

The aforementioned is due to a front that essentially stops in many states in the southern United States, bringing long periods of rain.

There is a chance of showers from the Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas region to North Carolina and South Carolina.

For Columbia, South Carolina, Charlotte and Raleigh in North Carolina, it is estimated to rain mostly this Saturday , which would allow for less humid conditions on Sunday.

On the other hand, much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast will deal with rain for the middle of this weekend.

New York, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia have rain forecast for this Saturday, with the second half of the weekend a little drier.

However, after the storm system advances, temperatures will tend to drop a little this coming Sunday.

For example, Boston will go from a high forecast this Saturday around 60 °F to a Sunday high at 50 °. Thus, Philadelphia goes from a forecast high on Saturday of 70 degrees to the mid-50 °F on Sunday.

In the Midwest of the country, the snowfall of the weekend and the low temperatures will be between 10 and 20 °F below normal, which is not normal in spring.

On the other hand, Minneapolis, which generally has a high temperature around 50 degrees, this weekend it will drop to 40 degrees, which will feel like early March. Bismarck, North Dakota, which has a maximum temperature of 50° for this date in April, expects to reach 26° this Saturday, a normal temperature for mid-February. Snow is expected in both cities on Sunday.

So snowpacks will be much higher in the Dakotas, where up to six inches of snow could fall in two days. Elsewhere in the Middle East, one to three inches of fresh snow is expected this weekend.

In Portland, Oregon, had measurable rain and snow every day this week, so expect it to hold off until Sunday for a day without downpours.

Storms moving up the West Coast will bring additional rain, and snow at higher elevations, from Seattle to San Francisco. It starts in Northern California before moving north and east for the weekend. The heaviest downpour will fall over northern California, where it is expected to fall between one and three inches.
