The actor and producer Mauricio Ochmann moved the public by breaking the silence about one of the most difficult stages of his life : his admission to a rehabilitation center to combat his addictions.

It was during his appearance on the podcast “Creativo”, by youtuber Roberto Martínez, where Aislinn Derbez’s ex spoke like few times about the process he faced a few years ago to overcome his addictions.

According to Ochmann, making the decision to lower his guard and help himself was very difficult: “I was on a path of death, surviving all situations, and arriving at the moment decision to say ‘This is my life and I want to live, I don’t want to survive’. It was connecting with that part and saying ‘This is for me’. At that moment I raised my hand, asked for help and went to the rehabilitation center”, he said.

Despite the reality check that he experienced, the protagonist of films such as “A la mala” and “Hazlo como hombre” described it as “the best decision of my life”, since he gave himself “the opportunity to grow, to internalize, to no longer evade myself with substances or anything”, he detailed.

On a professional level, everything was different, since Mauricio Ochmann made the decision to intern during the recording of a telenovela. This led him to face consequences in the legal field , but they do not compare with those that would have entailed continuing with the lifestyle he had.

“My level of consumption was very strong, but it was functional. Although there did come a time when I felt like I was dying doing the project or I was going to intern ”, he said. “I had to show up if they weren’t going to sue me,” he added.

On the other hand, Mauricio Ochmann recounted what he experienced during his admission to said rehabilitation center, including the activities he did to keep his mind occupied.

“They were like 35 hospitalized days doing physical, mental and emotional therapy, because in the end addiction is a disease and it is triphasic, it must be attacked in its three areas. It was very nice because they gave me the tools to continue working for the rest of my life,” the actor concluded.
