Boxing and Reggaeton: Canelo Álvarez received Rauw Alejandro before his fight against Bivol

Saul Canelo Álvarez is getting closer to his fight against Dmitry Bivol on May 7th. There are two weeks left for the fight, and the Mexican boxer received the singer Rauw Alejandro, one of the greatest exponents of reggaeton today.

Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, shared the image on Twitter of both exchanging blows with gloves on.

¨Music superstar Rauw Alejandro Training with boxing superstar Canelo Álvarez¨, Sulaiman shared on social media .

It is not the first time that Canelo has met with reggaeton singers. Previously has been with Residente and also with the Colombian J Balvin. Even the Mexican boxer has been a mediator in the conflict between Reisdente and J Balvin.

Reports indicate that J Balvin wrote to the Mexican boxer with the intention of having him talk to the Puerto Rican so that this conflict would not escalate.

Clearly, this alleged attempt by the man from Guadalajara was of little use, since the issue came to light and was widely publicized due to the strong insults René manifested in which he even branded the Colombian singer as a racist.

Facing his great fight, Álvarez chose two important boxers as sparring partners to arrive in the best possible conditions. In this sense, the Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvodzkyk, former WBC world champion of the 175 pounds; and Aidos Yerbossynuly were chosen for the Canelo’s preparation.

If Canelo wins against Bivol on May 7, his next fight against Gennady Golovkin in September.

Recently, ¨Canelo” Álvarez was named Fighter of the Year and Reynoso was awarded Trainer of the Year and Manager of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA). The famous triple crown went all to Mexico.

“The truth is that it is a pride for me and for our team to be able to win this triple crown and be able to continue making history”, said the undisputed super middleweight world champion at his gym in San Diego, where he is preparing for his May 7 fight against Russia’s Dmitry Bivol.
