The Joe Biden administration published on Thursday a list of action plans designed to promote equity, racial justice, and gender equality throughout the federal government. According to the White House, this equity and racial justice initiative promoted by President Joe Biden implies new strategies .

President Joe Biden said more than 90 federal agencies are publishing those plans that contain more than 300 concrete strategies of racial justice to “address systemic barriers” that prevent marginalized communities from achieving prosperity, dignity and equality.

These actions are derived from an executed order presidential election of Joe Biden issued in January of 2021 intended to p break racial equity in government.

Included in this comprehensive strategy are actions to support communities that the White House says have been deprived of opportunity for too long.

Those communities, according to the White House, include people of color, tribal, rural, and LGBTQ+ communities, as well as women and girls, people with disabilities, and communities affected by persistent poverty.

In addition to prioritizing greater equity in the services the federal government provides to the people, the Biden administration’s Equity Action Plans also contain innovative new strategies to incorporate equity, racial justice and gender equality I was in everyday government.

The White House highlighted in a statement: “Advancing equity is not a one-year project, it is a generational commitment that will require leadership and a partnership with all communities”.

Most important aspects of the Equity Action Plans

Economic Justice: President Biden is renewing the federal government’s commitment to making the American Dream a reality for families with bold and ambitious steps to build a more equitable economy. The agencies are promoting fairness for workers and job seekers, strengthening social safety net programs, and supporting wealth creation by increasing opportunity.

Educational Equity and Pathways to Opportunity: From Pre-K through Higher Education and adult learners, education has the power to put the American Dream within reach of every individual and fulfill the vast potential of our nation. To meet this potential, agencies are considering and addressing long-standing disparities affecting underserved students.

Environmental Justice: For too long, environmental policy decisions have not adequately taken into account environmental injustice. The Biden administration will chart a new course by promoting environmental justice, including through the implementation of the Justice Initiative40, which will guarantee that the 40 % of the benefits of investments in clean energy reach to disadvantaged communities.

Civil Rights: Promoting civil rights is critical to realizing our nation’s promise: that we are all created equal and deserve to be treated equally. Theaffirmative promotion of civil rights is a central aspect of the government’s work for underserved communities.

Equity in health: a unique pandemic in a century highlighted pre-existing disparities in our health care system. As our nation continues to recover from COVID-, agencies are promoting equity in health, addressing the social determinants of health and expanding access to quality, affordable health care to meet the needs of underserved communities .

Criminal justice: Too many people are incarcerated and face systemic disparities in our nation’s criminal justice system. The Biden Administration is working to reduce incarceration, end racial disparities in the criminal justice system, and facilitate successful reentry, while keeping our communities safe and works to end the epidemic of gun violence.

Housing Justice and Community Investment: Diverse and inclusive communities strengthen our democracy. Federal agencies are addressing their historic roles by systematically investing in communities of color, rural communities, and communities facing persistent poverty.

Equity in the global context: Strengthening inclusive democracies around the world is a fundamental principle of the foreign policy of the Biden Administration. To advance this goal, agencies are using American leadership abroad to promote equity, human rights, and full inclusion for communities that are underserved or face barriers to inclusion.
