At least three people died this Friday in an alleged robbery at the Lock Stock & Barrel shooting range in Grantville, in the state from Georgia, informed the local authorities.
The shooting took place around 5: 30 in the afternoon, the Grantville Police Department wrote in a statement posted on the social network Facebook. The town of Grantville is located about 80 miles southwest of Atlanta.
The police went to the shooting range after 8: 00 of the night, where found the owner of the place, his wife and grandson dead, officials said. In addition, they stole at least 40 firearms and a DVR camera, they added.
The shooting is believed to have occurred after business hours. So far, police officials have not offered details of how the three victims were killed.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting a homicide investigation, the agency told CNN via email.
Likewise, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) also is within the investigations for the amount of weapons stolen from the place , reported the authorities. In addition, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Department is collaborating with the investigation of the fact.
For his part, Lenin Wood, county sheriff, said that “this is devastating not only for Grantville but for all of Coweta County. We will assist in any way we can to bring closure to the victims’ families as quickly as we can.”
In this sense, the police are asking the general public to have traveled through the shooting range between 5: 30 and 6: 30 in the afternoon that they have been able to observe vehicles such as a white Ford truck with two rear wheels and a Ford Black Expedition, to contact the authorities.
