Today, Camila Cabello released her third studio album “Familia”, accompanied by the video for her next single “psychofreak ” in which she is joined by Will Smith’s daughter, Willow. In this song, the Cuban singer refers to her departure from Fifth Harmony, the group that launched her to stardom in the second season of “The X Factor USA”.
“ I don’t blame the girls for how it happened” is the short but heartfelt phrase, which the singer confirmed in an interview for Reuters that talks about the four members she left behind when dropped out of the group in 2016: Lauren Jauregui, Normani, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane.
The interpreter of “Havana” explained that this song talks about “The anxiety and all the things that have been part of my journey with her, for starting very young in the industry.” She assured that she currently communicates with her ex colleagues and who currently support each other a lot through direct messages on social networks. “Now I feel like I’m in a really good place with them,” she added.
At the time of leaving Fifth Harmony, Cabello felt very hurt , because in the presentation of “Down” and “Angel”, the first two singles of the group after his retirement from the band”, at the MTV Video Music Awards ; A faceless fifth member appeared on stage and was quickly pushed away before the song started.
At the moment, Camila Cabello told Reuters that on this album: “I think that I, as a human being, am better; down to earth and generally better. I feel much safer, calmer and my true self”.
