Prior to a historic election to be held on Sunday 10 from April to revoke or confirm the continuation of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), some 432 people came to downtown Los Angeles to shout that the Aztec president is not alone, and to ask the people of Mexico to go out and vote to ratify the mandate of what they called “the best president the country has ever had.”

“The main message is that the President is not alone,” said Juan José Gutiérrez, director of the Coalition of Full Rights for Immigrants. “The second message is to remind everyone that the next in April we are going to vote for the ratification of the mandate of President AMLO”.

He added that in Mexico the corporate media are giving a message that the president has been ineffective and that the people are rejecting him, but it is false, he stressed. “That’s why we’re taking to the streets of Los Angeles today. to let the president and the people of Mexico know that we immigrants are with him.

The immigrants marched and shouted: “It is an honor to be with Obrador”.

Gutiérrez recalled that because many immigrants in the United States could not register (only 18,04) due to the malfunctioning of the system where people ended up frustrated, it is necessary that immigrants Mexicans call their relatives in Mexico to ask them to go out and ratify AMLO next Sunday.

Immigrants from various states of the country, from several cities in California and some businessmen from Mexico were arriving little by little from the 10 on Sunday morning to start with a series of short speeches by those present, and then march from the Los Angeles City Hall building to Placita Olvera where the leaders addressed them.

Gustavo Morton, president of the group of Mexican businessmen for the 4T, traveled from Monterrey, Mexico to support the movement and immigrants in the United States.

“Mexico is indebted to the migrants”, expressed the leader of almost 60 thousand small businesses in Mexico. “Remittances are saving our country and it is not fair that they do not have the representation and rights they deserve; however -he emphasized-, none of this would have been possible without a President as progressive as Mr. AMLO”.

There was a lot of enthusiasm and optimism on the part of the immigrants during the march in LA.

Morton clarified that constantly in Mexico in the media it is heard that businessmen are against the President, but the reality is that it is only a handful of large companies that lost certain privileges; however, it says that the 64% of the companies in Mexico are small and medium-sized companies, which are not identified with corporations.

He added that the group of entrepreneurs not only represents businesses from Mexico but from all over the world, that is why he invited Mexican entrepreneurs in the United States to join (e4t.org.mx) to work together for small businesses, immigrants and the people of Mexico.

During the march the attendees did not stop shouting: “AMLO, friend, the people are with you”, “Yes, yes, let the President continue”, “If we want to win, we have to vote”, “It is an honor to be with Obrador”, “From north to south, from east to west, we will win this fight, whatever it takes.”

Another of the participants was Professor Juan Ramírez, Vice President of the teachers union of Los Angeles (UTLA), who despite already having a stable life in the United States and having emigrated for more than 50 years, said that if Mexico does better, people will no longer have to leave the country as they had to make his family during the six-year term of President Luis Echeverría.

“Distance or time keep me away from Mexico,” said the professor. “I have dual nationality and I have seen that President AMLO has made great changes for most people that had never been made before.”

He added that fortunately his whole family was able to emigrate, but thousands of people have to abandon everything to achieve a better life, that is why it is so important to support the current president. “We no longer want people to have to abandon their land risking everything.”

Ramírez asked Mexicans not to be fooled by the corporate media trying to sell a false idea about President AMLO. “It is important that everything that has been done in three years be reported and analyzed.”

Around two in the Later, people began to leave, the streets of Los Angeles returned to normal, but some were still screaming. “It is an honor to be with Obrador”.

The Mandate Revocation election is historic because for the first time in Mexico, its citizens will have the opportunity to revoke or ratify a government, not just a presidential one, but at the state level it can also be done.
