Univision releases a new preview of 'El Último Rey', the bioseries inspired by the life of Vicente Fernández

One of the most controversial series of recent times is “El Último Rey”, the bioseries based on the life of Vicente Fernández. The production of TelevisaUnivision was carried out without the authorization of the Charro de Huentitán family. This fact prompted Fernández’s widow to sue TelevisaUnivision for using the singer’s name and thereby trying to prevent the series from being broadcast.

TelevisaUnivision defended itself against the lawsuit and the first season of “El Último Rey” was broadcast entirely in Mexico. Although the demand is still standing, the production starring Pablo Montero will continue its course and it is said that in May the will broadcast the second season of the series.

In the United States, Univision will broadcast the series and a new trailer indicates that it will premiere very soon.

The series is based on the book “The Last King” written by the Argentine journalist Olga Wornat.
