The meteorologists warn of an “outbreak of fire-dangerous weather conditions” in the Plains and snow for Southern California, including the city of Los Angeles.
One storm hitting California is just one of many wild weather events expected to hit this week across the country.
The Plains states are bracing for the possibility of wildfires as temperatures rise in those areas.
In the meantime, Los Angeles is expected to receive up to 12 inches of snow in mountainous areas with more rain during the week , according to Bloomberg.
“There could also be minor urban flooding and some mudslides along the burned areas”, i Marc Chenard, a meteorologist at the United States Weather Prediction Center, informed Bloomberg.
On the other hand, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, parts of the eastern New Mexico and southeastern Colorado, are presented as the areas with the highest risk of wildfires.
This is due to drought, low humidity and warm temperatures forecast for next week, according to Forbes.
Texas is expected to see weather in the 80°F throughout the week, depending on the weather forecast.
For areas experiencing warm temperatures, but low humidity, widespread red flag warnings will remain in effect.
“Do not throw cigarettes on the ground or out of a moving vehicle. Keep vehicles on driving surfaces and do not drive through tall grass. Store the chains properly,” the National Weather Service office in Midland told Forbes.
As for California, there is a high advisory for high expected swell for cities in southern California such as Los Angeles, Torrance and Long Beach, according to weather.com.
The forecast storm for California, then it will go to the center of the country towards the east coast; posing risks of thunderstorms and tornadoes, according to Bloomberg.
Wild weather is also expected to make an appearance in New York City with temperatures in Manhattan reaching 68°F degrees with a 68% chance of rain on Thursday.
