Since the original Game Boy released in the 1990s 1980, Nintendo has been very successful in the portable gaming market. The Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance were also big hits, so it came as quite a surprise when Nintendo decided to move away from the Game Boy brand to release the Nintendo DS.
An innovative new take on a portable gaming system, the Nintendo DS used a dual-screen design,, touchscreen input, and a microphone to help create entirely new kinds of gaming experiences.
The Nintendo DS was a great sales success for the company, so there was a lot of expectation for the follow-up.
The Nintendo 3DS was officially announced in March 2010, showing a portable console that was visually similar to the DS line of portable systems, but with some improvements massive, like 3D without glasses s, a circular pad, motion controls, backwards compatibility with DS Games and more.
In February and March 2011, Nintendo released the 3DS in major markets including Japan, Europe, and North America. North.
