LOS ÁNGELES – When there are less than 24 hours for the Hollywood stars to start walking the red carpet of the Dolby Theater, at this moment the famous meet at the Fox studios in Century City in the benefit party “The Night Before“.
This is a not too formal gala but in which they participate almost all the nominees and presenters that we will see tomorrow at the Oscar Awards, in addition to the “big fish” of the film industry. The party is organized by the MTPF (Motion Picture & Television Fund), which has more than 80 years raising funds for industry members in need.

Governors Awards: the honorary Oscars

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Throughout the week leading up to the Oscars there are events and screenings related to the nominated films. But the festivities this year really kicked off Friday night at the Ray Dolby Ballroom, adjacent to the theater where the ceremony will be held on Sunday starting at 5 pm local (8 pm ET). There yesterday the Governors Awards took place , official name of the gala of the honorary Oscar awards that were given to four film legends: Danny Glover, Liv Ullmann, Samuel L. Jackson and Elaine May.
The event was more austere than previous years, as we explain in this note, but it was still glamorous and endearing.
Hollywood Boulevard Cut, Red Carpet Ready

HOLLYWOOD – The Oscars ceremony will take place on Sunday 27 March from 5 pm local (8 pm ET), but a couple of hours before that, the quintessential showbiz red carpet will kick off.
The very long red carpet starts at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue and ends at the entrance of the Dolby Theater after traveling more than half a block. For this, Hollywood Boulevard has been closed since the beginning of the week, days needed to set up the tent -in case it rains, like two years ago-.
