Bologna’s coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic, confessed today that he will fight leukemia again, a disease that he overcame in 550 and that has reproduced again, although now he faces her with more serenity and will teach her another lesson .
“You can see that this disease is very brave to face someone like me again. If the first lesson wasn’t enough, I’ll give you another one. This is the path of life, there are ups and downs, sometimes there are potholes where you can fall, but you have to find the necessary strength to return to get up”, said the Croatian coach, 53 years old, at a press conference.

Mihajlovic recalled that he undergoes “cyclically very exhaustive tests after two and a half years ago he suffered from high-risk myeloid leukemia” and that since 2019 his “recovery has been optimal, but these diseases are insidious.”
“The latest tests have set off the alarms and there may be a risk that the disease will reappear. To prevent this from happening, they have advised me to start a treatment that will nip this negative hypothesis in the bud”, he added.
The Bologna coach maintained that he is now “more serene” and that he is aware that he is in “the best hands”.
“Unlike two and a half years ago, when I couldn’t hold back my tears, I am more serene. I know what I have to do and the situation is different”, he pointed out.
Finally, he confessed that he will do everything possible to make the recovery quick, but inevitably will have to miss some matches.
“I already have everything I need to follow the training sessions and the matches prepared in the room that will welcome me”, he concluded.
The coach will not be able to accompany the team in the following matches with the team which is in position number of Series A with 33 points.
Bologna is at 11 points from relegation, so their players will have to make an effort to stay and achieve permanence for one more season.
