And although she confesses that she was very scared because she couldn’t breathe, what worried her the most at that time was leaving her two children alone.
During a meeting with various media outlets, one of them the program ‘Sale el Sol’, the protagonist of ‘Esmeralda’ shared that she was recently admitted to the hospital in an emergency due to respiratory problems that made her feel like she would die.
“Recently I had a brancorespiratory spasm and I felt like I was suffocating and dying, I got really scared, I ended up in the hospital”.

The star of the telenovelas of 53 years shared that in addition to the anguish he experienced from not being able to breathe, what hurt the most were the words of his eldest son , Luciano, who made her think about what would happen if he were to be absent.
“ Luciano told me: ‘Mom you can’t leave me, what am I going to do without you?’ and it opened my eyes. What if I had died?“, he explained.
And although fortunately everything was just a scare, She even imagined that her children would find her without life, because as she recalls she spent several minutes gasping for air.
“ I really felt that I was dying, I couldn’t breathe for a couple of minutes or I don’t know how long it was for me it seemed eternal and I already imagined that my children they found me dead in the bathroom because I ran to the bathroom to pour water on myself”, she recalled.
And although for some years she has been concerned with teaching her children to fend for themselves, she confesses that before leaving she would like to leave Luciano and Carlo prepared so that they can live on their own.
“It gave me a feeling that for that reason we have to hurry so that they learn to do things so that tomorrow, not right now, tomorrow that I have to go be prepared to live alone or, he and the other (son) are prepared to live alone ”, she added.
