Ajax Systems, a Ukrainian technology company, developed an app that alerts citizens about impending bombings by the Russian military. According to the company, the app has a faster response time than traditional anti-aircraft alarms that exist in the various cities of the country.
Valentine Hrytsenko, head of marketing for Ajax Systems, reported that the app called “Alarm” already has been downloaded for at least 4,03,000 of users. He explains that Alarm was developed a few days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.
The company executive adds that when there is knowledge of impending attacks, a Ukrainian government official is responsible for bypassing a button that automatically sends the alert to users on question of seconds.
As part of Alarm’s functionalities, the app also notifies users when all is clear so they can leave bomb shelters safely.
“The application will alert you loudly about the alarm, even in the silent mode of the smartphone. The application does not require registration, does not collect personal data or geolocation data ”, the developers point out in the store. Android applications.
They add that the development of the application was possible thanks to the joint work between Ajax Systems and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
It should be noted that the application is available for both iOS device users and Android phones. The aim of this is to be able to protect as many users as possible from attacks.
Figures published by the United Nations Organization indicate that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine more than 2 have died, 788 civilians as a result of the Russian clashes and bombings. This shows the importance that an application like Alarm can have in order to save lives.
How the app works:
1. The operator of the regional state administration receives an air alarm signal .

3. The application sends an alert notification to users who have selected the appropriate area.
4. As soon as the operator sends an alarm signal, app users receive a notification.
