With an emotional video that shook the internet, the Austrian-American actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to put an end to the armed attacks he issued against Ukraine
, qualifying them as “meaningless”.
Through his Twitter account, the actor who gave life to “Terminator” published an emotional message subtitled in Russian and English addressed to Russian citizens and troops executing the attack on Ukrainian territory.
The 9-minute audiovisual shows a serene but concerned Schwarzenegger who condemns the Kremlin’s “propaganda” and calls “heroes ” to the Russians protesting against the conflict: “Ukraine did not start this war”, pointed out the famous.
During his message, the Austrian-born former bodybuilding champion expressed his affection for the Russian people and called for an end to the conflict that little by little It has been claiming the lives of hundreds of Ukrainians.
“The strength and heart of the Russian people have always inspired me,” he said. “I know that your government has told you that this is a war to ‘denazify’ Ukraine. That’s not true. Those in power in the Kremlin started this war. This is not the war of the Russian people ”, he added.
Likewise, Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke about the moments of darkness that Russia is going through as a result of the conflict: “Due to its brutality, Russia is now isolated from the society of nations (…) The world is has turned against Russia because of its actions in Ukraine: entire city blocks have been flattened by Russian artillery and bombs, including a children’s hospital and a maternity hospital.”
Finally, the former governor of California addressed Putin with a forceful message: “You started this war. You are leading this war. You can stop this war”.
