The talent of the Mexican striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández is not only recognized by his country (which appreciates him so much), his fans in the LA Galaxy and the club itself, but also by his opponents, as happened this Saturday when the coach of the Seattle Sounders, Brian Schmetzer, paid him his respects and shook his hand.

When Chicharito was being photographed before the game between the Sounders and the Galaxy (which the locals won 3-2), Schmetzer approached the striker to show his respects:

“Exceptional player, he is a very good player,” he said to the attendees”, he told the photographers present in one of the locker room exits of the Lumen Field stadium.

Visibly blushing and honored by the gesture, Chicharito (dressed in LA training jacket) likes him he said and made an approving gesture with his hand.

The impact of Chicharito Hernández in the MLS

After an important career in European football (Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, West Ham United and Sevilla FC), Chicharito Hernández came to North American soccer as a star signing for the Los Angeles Galaxy, with the aim of continuing to be a prestigious club with stars among its ranks.

In the past, the ‘Galaxy’ featured players of the stature of Landon Donovan, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Giovani Dos Santos, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, among others.

It is too early to talk about a profound impact due to Hernández’s arrival in the MLS, but it is possible to talk about an important legacy, not not only because of its hundreds of fans in the different places of the tournament, but also because of the level of its football and the respect it has earned among players and coaching staff.
