The Nicaraguan Soccer Federation (Fenifut) announced this Friday that the country’s national team will travel to Querétaro, Mexico, to face the clubs of Liga MX, the highest level in the North American country.
“This tour will be carried out in preparation for the commitments of the Concacaf Nations League (Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean Soccer), and the international tour in September”, reported Fenifut, in a statement.
Fenifut reported that the Nicaraguan team “will be concentrated in the La Loma Sports Complex, in Querétaro”.
The State of Querétaro has captured the attention since last Saturday, when a massive fight between fans at the La Corregidora stadium, left at least 26 injured, forced to stop the local game against Atlas.
The Nicaraguans will face the next day 22 against the Sub’20 of Nexaca, in a training match, at the La Loma Sports Complex in Querétaro, according to Fenifut.
The day 24 Nicaragua will play with the senior squad of Puebla, current leader of the Closing Tournament, directed by the Argentine Nicolás Larcamón.
The tour of the Central Americans will conclude on the day 26 at the Alfonso Lastras Stadium, with the match against Atlético de San Luis, of the Brazilian coach André Jardine, that marches in the position 16 of the Mexican league.
Matches against Mexican clubs also They will serve for the debut of the Chilean coach Marco Antonio Figueroa, who last February was appointed coach of Nicaragua to replace the Argentine Juan Vita.
Nicaragua has never qualified for a World Cup, and its results in the Gold Cup and Copa América have been discreet.
