LeBron James is still the leader of the Lakers and he scored 50 points against the Washington Wizards so that the team from Los Angeles will take the victory 122-109 this Friday night.
With 37 years and after 19 seasons in the NBA, LeBron continues to show that he has a lot of gas in the tank. “King James” dshredded the Wizards with 50 points (17 of 29 in shots, 6 of 9 in triples), 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
Especially memorable was his display after the break, since in the first half he only scored 17 points but in the third quarter he shone with 19 and in the last one he finished off the match with 14 more units.
LeBron monopolized the Lakers attack but received support from Malik Monk (21 points) and Talen Horton-Tucker (15 points).
Russell Westbrook had a weak game (5 points with 2 of 11 in shots, 3 rebounds and 9 assists) and did not take the field in the decisive minutes of the last quarter.
In the Wizards, Kyle Kuzma (23 points and 7 rebounds) and Cor Hey Kispert (21 points) were the top scorers but they could do little in the face of the hurricane that came upon them.
The Brazilian Raul Neto started for the Wizards and got 6 points, a rebound and 4 assists.
LeBron’s recital also overshadowed the return to Los Angeles of Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who won the ring with the Lakers in the “bubble” of 2020 and that today they received the applause of their old fans.
However, the icing on the cake could only be put by one player, LeBron James, who with two baskets and a tremendous triple to reach the 50 points rremembered that, right now, he is the only thing to what these Lakers can hold on to.
This is LeBron James’ second game in a row with 50 or more points after scoring 56 drives against Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors. The Lakers remain in ninth position in the Western Conference with 29 wins and 37 defeats 23.5 of the first place and 4.5 of the eighth place occupied by the Clippers.
In their last 10 games they have a record of 3 wins and 7 defeats and that they will have to improve their pace in the last stretch of the season.
