Duel of Mexicans in Guatemala: Roberto Hernández will seek to prevail over Irving Rubirosa and reach the leadership of Guatemalan soccer

El Malacateco, current Guatemalan soccer champion led by Mexican Roberto Hernández

, will seek this weekend to reach the top of the Clausura tournament 2022 when visiting Xelajú, waiting for a fall of the leader of the contest, Guastatoya.

The match, corresponding to the date 12, will face the team de Hernández with that of his compatriot and colleague Irving Rubirosa, at the Mario Camposeco stadium in Quetzaltenango, where Xelajú plays at home.

El Malacateco currently has 20 points and is in second place, two units behind the leader of the Clausura tournament 2021, the Guastatoya.

Those led by Hernández will seek a victory and will wait for a defeat by Guastatoya in order to climb to the lead, in the absence of 11 dates for the qualifying phase to end.

On the first day, Malacateco won as local to Xelajú 2-0, so Rubirosa’s men will seek revenge in the match another scheduled for this Saturday night. Precisely the leader of the tournament, Guastatoya, will visit Iztapa on Sunday, located in the tenth position of the 11 clubs that make up the highest category of Guatemalan soccer.

Communications is directed by the Uruguayan William Coito and is currently in third position in Guatemalan soccer with 10 points and a postponed game.

For its part, Municipal, under the command of the coach Paraguayan José Cardozo will try to forget his last defeat at home against Achuapa when he hosts Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa on Saturday.

Cardozo’s club is fifth, with 17 points, and will try to redeem himself in front of his fans against Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, whom he defeated at home by 0-2 in the first round.

The day 12 of Guatemalan soccer will be completed with the matches Achuapa-Antigua and Cobán Imperial-Sololá.
