At least 79 children have died and a hundred have been injured since the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops began last 24 of February, according to a report published this Saturday by the Prosecutor’s Office for Minors of Ukraine on its Telegram account.
Most of the deceased included in this report , whose data cannot be verified by an independent source, have occurred in Russian attacks against the main cities of the country.
“During the 16 days of war in Ukraine, have already died 79 children and almost 100 have been injured. Most of the victims were in the Kiev, Kharkov, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson and Zhitomir regions”, the report states.
According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office, this figure is not final “due to the lack of opportunity to inspect the attack sites , where the Russian armed forces are carrying out their hostile activities”.
So far, more than 280 educational institutions have been destroyed, 9 of them in total.
In the Donetsk region, in the east of the country, 110 educational institutions were damaged, in the Sumy region, also in the east, were affected 24, and in Kiev, 17, ad More than a dozen medical centers for minors.
According to the document, on average 17 Educational institutions have been destroyed daily by Russian attacks since the invasion ordered by the president of that country, Vladimir Putin, began.
About seven million of children are deprived of the opportunity to study due to active hostilities on the territory of Ukraine and the deliberate destruction of such institutions, denounces the Prosecutor’s Office .
