Uber Eats launched a new update that allows its users to create group orders that can then be paid individuallyl. This will make it easier for each person to pay their part of the bill without the need for another member of the group to pay for the others.
Those responsible of the application point out that this new function is accompanied by other tools that make it easier to order food at home for several people .
Here’s how you can use the new feature to split your Uber Eats account payment:
1. Enter the page of the food site where you want to place the order
2. Press the button with the three dots symbol at the top right of the screen
3. Select the group order option. This will open a new window from which the user can add other people to the group by selecting them from the phone’s contact list.
4. Once the invitations are sent, people will receive a link that they must access to enter the Uber Eats group.
As part of the new function, the application also allows the person in charge of creating the group (host) to pay for all the food that the rest of the members order of the group. To do this, you even have the possibility of setting limits on how much money each of them can spend in order to estimate the total amount of the account.
From Uber Eats they also point out that groups deadlines can be set up to 7 days in advance, which means that in the event of a meeting all group members have enough time to choose their food and pay for it before the order is processed.
The application even is in charge of sending notifications to people reminding them that they must enter their orders in a specific time, so that there are no oversights that could affect the delivery request.
This new function represents a significant change within the application because until now if a person wanted to perform a group order, had to assume the cost of the global invoice , in addition to being in charge of entering each of the menus of the group members.
