Joe Biden’s government sounded the alarm again and publicly warned that Russia could try to use chemical weapons or in Ukraine, after the White House rejected Russian claims of illegal development of chemical weapons in the neighboring country.

In recent days, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, accused Ukraine of having chemical and biological weapons laboratories on its territory, a statement that Jen Psaki, White House press secretary, described as absurd.

Now that Russia has made these false claims, and China has seemingly endorsed this propaganda, we should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them. It’s a clear pattern.

“This is all an obvious strategy by Russia to try to justify its new premeditated, unprovoked and unjustified attack on Ukraine,” Psaki tweeted on Wednesday.

“Now that Russia has made these false claims, and China apparently backed this propaganda, we should all be on the lookout for the possibility of Russia using chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or creating a false flag operation using them,” he continued.

The United States clarifies that Russia previously used the same strategy to create a pretext for the invasion. Wednesday’s warning suggested that Russia may seek to create a pretext to further escalate the two-week-old conflict that has seen the Russian offensive slowed by defenders. Ukrainians stronger than expected, but not stopped.

Pentagon press secretary John Kirby on Wednesday called the Russian claim “a bunch of nonsense.”

In a statement, he stressed that Russia has a history of accusing the West of the same crimes that the Putin government itself is perpetrating, “These tactics are an obvious ruse by Russia to try to justify further premeditated, unprovoked and unwarranted attacks on Ukraine. We hope that Russia will continue to duplicate these types of claims with more baseless accusations”.

Prior to the invasion, Russia denied possession of chemical weapons

Weeks before the war in Ukraine broke out, the Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, denied that his country had chemical weapons and accused that they were seeking to “demonize Russia”, however, also denied the intention to invade the neighboring country and it happened.
