Lupita D’Alessio is one of the most talented artists in Latin music and the Latin AMAs 2022 will recognize their career with the Legend Award. In addition to receiving recognition, La Leona Dormida will roar on stage with a musical performance during the award ceremony next Thursday 21 April on Telemundo from Las Vegas.

Lupita D’Alessio maintains more than 50 years of a successful career artist that has consecrated with great tenacity and strength, creating a unique style that has elevated her as one of the best performers in Mexico and a superstar of music in Latin America.
The strong interpretive character and temperament of “Leona Dormida” have been key in each of her songs, with classic songs such as “Mudanzas”, “Acaríciame”, “Can’t wait to see you never again”, “Ese Hombre”, “Como tú”, and “Sorry my love”, among others, which have become iconic songs of the Latin American songbook.
Born in Mexico City, Guadalupe Contreras Ramos, her first name, began her musical career at a very young age with small interventions in a program hosted by his father in Tijuana, Baja California. In her 1971 she starts professionally in the International Popular Song Festival and in 1978 she triumphs at the OTI Festival.
During the last five decades he has maintained a brilliant artistic career in which he accumulates 54 live, studio and compilation albums, with participation in 11 soap operas, and more than 40 million albums sold. At 67 years old, Lupita D’Alessio is still going strong, launching her most recent album at the end of last year, recording a CD + DVD live from the Arena Ciudad de México, continuing his “Aquí Está Yo” tour that began in Mexico and will soon return to the stages of the United States, with more than 12 shows confirmed for this year.
Her wide repertoire, powerful voice and interpretative strength, with which she can make any song a success, make Lupita D’Alessio an international icon artist of music, whose work goes beyond beyond generations and makes her worthy of the Latin AMAs Legend Award.
