Although Courteney Cox played one of the most memorable roles on television, that doesn’t mean he remembers everything he’s filmed. The former star of “Friends” revealed to Willie Geist, host of “Today” that not really remember having filmed a large part of the successful series.
During the segment “Sunday Sitdown” of the broadcast, the actress who brought “Monica Geller” to life on the show warned: “I should have seen the 10 seasons, because when I did the meeting and they asked me questions, I said: ‘I don’t remember being there’. Yes. I don’t remember shooting so many episodes”.
Laughing, Cox -of 54 years old- pointed out that sometimes he watches the series he starred in together with Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. However, he does not remember some episodes. “Sometimes I watch the series on TV and I think: ‘My God, I don’t remember any of this,’ but it’s so funny,” he added.
When Geist asked why she didn’t remember filming one of the most iconic shows in television history, Courteney’s answer was simple: “It’s very simple. I don’t remember anything from my childhood, I just have like three memories. I don’t know. I don’t know why”.
And although Cox’s memory of the filming of “Friends” is a bit of a blur, the producer nominated for Emmy recognizes the impact it has had on past generations and those to come. “No matter the generation that sees her, she always remains in the public’s taste. I think comedy is relevant. People can identify with all the characters”.
Cox is currently starring in the new horror series and comedy “Shining Vale”, which premiered a few days ago on the service of streaming Starz. In the series, she plays Pat Phelps, who meets a ghost after moving into an old mansion in Connecticut in a last-ditch effort to save her marriage to Terry Phelps, played by Greg Kinnear.
