The sanctions imposed this Tuesday by the Mexican soccer authorities were described as not very convincing , after the unfortunate events that took place on Saturday in the La Corregidora stadium, during the match between Querétaro and Atlas.
In the resolution of the owners’ meeting it was agreed that Querétaro would not be disaffiliated from the MX League; a five-year suspension for the directors of Gallos Blancos; the pass to the hot group to Querétaro, who will also have to play a year playing behind closed doors in local games; an economic penalty of $100 thousand dollars, equivalent to 1.5 million pesos; a three-year-old beto for the Los Gallos bar; and six months suspension as a visitor to the Atlas bar.
Before this has been several negative comments in relation to the measures, which in the opinion of many should have been stronger, taking into account that they are episodes that are they can repeat in other stadiums.
The ESPN journalist, David Faitelson, was one of those who spoke in relation to the sanctions, and stressed that the owners of the clubs simply “they threw the garbage under the carpet”.
Through a video posted on his social networks, Faitelson assured that it was the right time to attack the bars of Mexican clubs, to say enough to “the criminals” in the cheers of the teams.
“Once again the bars survive in Mexican soccer. Is incredible. Today club owners had a wonderful opportunity to say it’s over . We don’t want more criminals in our stands, and they didn’t,” said Faitelson.
The journalist assured that the problem that occurred in Querétaro was treated as something unique and particular of that square, when it is known that violence has reached Mexican soccer in a global way.
“All the clubs, all the stadiums, all the places have had a history of violence, what are you waiting for, what happens in a Chivas-America, or what happens in a Cruz Azul-Pumas
On the other hand, the commentator for Imagen TV Mex, Javier Alarcón, published a series of messages on his Twitter account, where he also dismissed the forcefulness of the announced sanctions.
“The bars will still be alive that is the sad note from today. The rest are big smears of makeup. They will regret it,” Alarcón said in one of the “tweets.” In the following message he wrote, ” De Luisa and Arriola prescribed an aspirin to the terminal cancer patient”, referring to the serious situation of violence that live Mexican soccer.
Another who questioned the decision of the Aztec soccer authorities was the Argentine-born Mexican sports journalist and sports narrator Christian Martinoli, who assured that it was time to set a precedent and they didn’t.
“With all the aggravating circumstances in hand, they did not want to carry out the regulation and set a historical precedent after an act of violence of such magnitude. This means that no club has absolute control over the radical misfits in the stands. Keep digging”, he wrote on his Twitter account.
The events that occurred at the La Corregidora stadium left a balance of 25 people injured. 05 of them were discharged, while one remains in a delicate state. However, the videos of the pitched battle between the fans of Querétaro and Atlas generated commotion throughout the world after the high level of violence that was observed.
