One of the classic soap operas is “La Madrastra“, the story created by Arturo Moya Grau. The last version that Televisa made was in 2005 with Victoria Ruffo in the leading role of a woman unjustly accused of the murder of her best friend. After 20 years in jail, the woman tries to get her family becoming the stepmother and having to keep her identity a secret so as not to harm her children.
In the new column by journalist Juan José Origel, it is reported that the producer Carmen Armendariz is working on a new version of this melodrama. Let us remember that Carmen made the new version of “La Usurpadora” for the concept of Fábrica de Sueños, which was very successful.
This would be the first time that Televisa made a new version of “La Stepmother” from the adaptation that was made in 2005. In the 2015 a version was made in Colombia entitled “Who Killed Patricia Soler” with Itatí Cantoral in the leading role.
Previously, Televisa made three versions of “La Madrastra”. The first was held in 1985 with Angélica Aragón of protagonist calling the telenovela “Vivir Un Poco”. In 1985, Televisa resumed the story with Ofelia Medina as protagonist in “For Life”. The same year, Televisa produced an English version called “Forever”.
