Owners of food trucks in the city of Los Angeles increased the price of their food due to the impact on their economy of the rise in the price of gasoline in recent weeks.

“I use a lot of gasoline. Weekly I used to fill the gas tank with about $100 dollars. Now we are at $170 dollars,” said Hispanic Fausto Devora, owner of the Jason’s Tacos food truck, which offers its products in East Los Angeles, to the ABC7 network.

The Hispanic Nolan Chavarría, owner of the El Pollón food truck, in the East of Los Angeles, mentioned that due to the current price of gasoline he had to increase the amount of his food for the second time by about 25 cents.

“We need to increase our prices a little because if not, we can no longer be in the market. Hopefully the government can help”, said Chavarría.

Some experts from the industry mentioned that the price of oil was going to reach $130 dollars per barrel, regardless of whether the crisis occurred due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
