Residents who earned less than $58,000 dollars during 2021 are entitled to receive free help preparing their taxes and filing your declaration

before the deadline of 15 April 2022.

Spokespersons of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state authorities recommended taxpayers not to leave the tax process until the last minute.

With the presentation of their tax returns, California residents have the opportunity to be eligible for economic stimulus checks and other benefits offered in the state.

“No person should be left without their reimbursement, just because they do not have money topay a preparer,” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said as he introduced a local initiative to help qualifying residents complete their relationships for free.

The program is not exclusive to residents of Los Angeles, but it is an IRS initiative that is active for all of California

.

IRS Sponsored Program

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offers the free service as part of an IRS-sponsored program.

The deadline to file taxes is 15 April 2022, and only those who request an extension will be able to make their presentation before 17 in October.

California residents who earned income for $54,000 dollars or less are eligible for totally free aid from VITA preparers who are certified.

To find the nearest site for help from VITA preparers , you can refer to this link and all you need is your zip code.

In some of the care centers you can schedule an appointment, but in others it is not possible and residents will be served in the order they arrived.
