South Dakota police plead not guilty to child pornography charges

A Sioux Falls County police officer was indicted by a jury on federal charges of production of child pornography and transfer of obscene materials to a minor shared the Federal prosecutor, Dennis R. Holmes.

The Federal Attorney’s Office detailed that Luke John Schauer, of 28 years, appeared in Sioux Falls Federal Court this week and the defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges, as detailed in the Argus Leader newspaper.

, Schauer attempted to persuade the alleged girl to engage in explicit sexual conduct in order to capture those moments.

He not only tried to perform sexual acts, but sent mat very graphic wasteland through his mobile phone, thinking he was talking to a girl, when really he was the undercover FBI agent.

The suspect was detained by the authorities and during the interrogation he confessed that he did think he was talking to a minor.

The Police Department fired him from the moment he was arrested.

During his hearing on Friday, March 4, Schauer pleaded not guilty of the charges attributed to him and for which he could spend many years in jail.

He will have to appear next 19 in April, for trial. If found guilty of the federal charges, he could reach a sentence of up to 30 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,05 of dollars.
