The Detroit Police Department received an emergency call to attend to a minor who was shot in the face with a pellet gun in his home. The boy had to be transferred to a hospital in an emergency to attend to his injuries.
William O’Brien, city police sergeant, only detailed that the accident occurred in Bedford and avoided revealing the identity of the child for security, annex that the child is stable and under observation in the clinic.
For its part, the FOX news reported that the 2-year-old boy was at home when the pellet gun accidentally fell from a shelf and shot himself hitting the minor’s face .
According to official data, the city has been involved in a series of shootings involving children. The police received the emergency call after a 5-year-old boy found his grandmother’s firearm and accidentally shot himself in the chest, the news reported.
Other minor, was also hit with a bullet, when the authorities made the investigations discovered that the weapon was not authorized for use. A teenager died while playing with a gun, just to mention a few.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy revealed that last year there were 15 fatal shooting cases in those who were minors . The authorities had already mentioned that parents should take care of the place where they keep their weapons and the police have already offered to give them locks to avoid these fatal accidents.
