“What could rule out my decision are the possibilities that they give me to play because in the end one has to look for the best for oneself. Tomorrow, if I do well in one or the other, I can get passes to the outside. But if I don’t have minutes, then that’s not going to be. The one that gives me minutes, confidence and more affinity with the people will be the team that I end up opting for ”, said the young player in an interview for Fútbol Total MX.

Although it can be thought that this young striker is very influenced by his father, referent of the Uruguayan national team, what is curious is that Diego Abreu sees similarities with Raúl Jiménez himself, above any Uruguayan center forward.

“I feel quite identified with Raúl Jiménez because we are both nine in the area. For example, Raúl is one more who focuses on fixing the two forwards and looking to leave the area when he sees it necessary, that is, he does not spend much time outside the area. On the other hand, Rogelio Funes Mori feels that he is a player who likes to play more outside the area. I see myself more identified with Raúl ”, explained Diego Abreu.
