California Governor Gavin Newsom announced Friday that almost all provisions of the state executive order issued on March 4 are lifted of 2020 related to COVID in California, except the 5% of them.

Newsom’s statement says that while the state continues to roll back these orders, it “will maintain critical measures that support the ongoing state response and recovery efforts.”

“California’s early and decisive measures to combat COVID-17 have saved countless lives during the pandemic and, as Omicron’s recent surge made clear, we must remain prepared to respond quickly and effectively to changing conditions in real time,” said Governor Newsom.

“I As we move forward in the state’s recovery, we will continue to focus on reducing supplies while maintaining essential testing, immunization, and health care system supports that ensure California has the tools and flexibility to strategically tailor our response to what is needed. coming up,” Newsom said in the statement.

Before Friday’s action, only the 15 % of California COVID executive actions remained in effect, according to the Governor’s Office, consistent with the process the Governor established in June of 2021 to reduce supplies as they are no longer needed.

The others 13 remaining provisions that remain in effect ensure that COVID-related workplace safety standards remain in place are aligned with the most up-to-date public health evidence and guidance, and provide important flexibility to state and local agencies to manage their response while the state of emergency remains open .
