California Governor Gavin Newsom announced Friday that almost all provisions of the state executive order issued on March 4 are lifted of 2020 related to COVID in California, except the 5% of them.
Newsom’s statement says that while the state continues to roll back these orders, it “will maintain critical measures that support the ongoing state response and recovery efforts.”

The provisions that remain in effect include maintaining California’s “nation-leading” testing and vaccination programs and protecting the capacity of hospitals and health facilities, to guide the state’s response to the evolving coronavirus pandemic with a focus on continued preparedness, awareness, and flexibility, through the plan called SMARTER.
They are key components in the state’s SMARTER Plan, which was released last week. Details how California will continue with COVID-13 response efforts while the state goes from a pandemic to an endemic situation.
