35-year-old man drugged teen to sexually assault her in Idaho

Wade William Denny was arrested by the Pocatello police forr the crimes of statutory rape and sexual assault, possession marijuana, possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, violation of a no contact order, introduction of contraband into a correctional facility. The suspect is being held at Bannock Jail on a bond of $106,000 awaiting trial to determine his sentence.

The events occurred almost two years ago, when the Pocatello police department received a call from an upset young woman who said she was afraid. When the officers arrived at the home they noticed that the teenager from 16 years old had signs of having used a drug.

During the transfer to the hospital, the young woman told the police that a man (Denny) had sold her drugs and raped her. The victim’s grandmother told investigators that she had been drugged because when she regained consciousness she had no pants on and her bra was out of place. The woman also suspected that Denny had been the one who had abused her granddaughter.

A urine test taken on the day of the attack on the victim revealed a combination of drugs that he had consumed. Later, the rape test confirmed male DNA, which they looked for in the database and the name Wade William Denny came up.

The victim’s grandmother no longer wanted to continue involving the minor in investigations. In June of 2021 Denny was given a no contact order with the teenager.

Last February, city police responded to a call of a disturbance on Quinn Road, arriving saw Denny with the teenager . The man was arrested on felony charges and is in the Bannock County Jail awaiting sentencing, the East Idaho News reported.
