Inflation for January rises 7.5%, thus registering the largest increase in prices in four decades. However, some states saw more increases than others. There will always be a state or a city more affected than another with respect to the price index, we will see which are the ones that are suffering the most from US inflation.
For Americans it is important to know if in the state in which they live the cost of living is the highest or not; Carrying these numbers is a way to help manage the terrible inflation rate that the United States is experiencing at the moment.
According to a study by a financial company American, the most expensive states to live in the country have been classified and in turn in which a high inflationary rise was seen due to the figures published in the month of January. Taking into account several factors such as housing costs, services, food costs and taxes, California, New York, Florida, Massachusetts lead the list.
In general, according to study estimates, a single person needs at least $2,851 dollars to cover your cost of living expenses, per month. But in these states you may need a little more of money to live comfortably.
States with the highest cost of living and most affected by inflation:
– California: with an increase of up to 2% in the last two months and 8.2 compared to a year ago, in areas like San Diego.– New York, Newark and New Jersey: showed an increase of 1.1% for the month of January; and between 5.1% and 6.3% with respect to the previous year.
– Florida: state in which the southern region shows an increase in the index of prices of 0.9% for the month of January and 7.8% with respect to last year. While the area of Tampa-St Petersburg: Clearwater,
shows a rise in prices in the area in 9.6% in the last 12 months. From November 2021 to January 2022 the rise is 2.4%.
– Hawaii: with a rise of 0.9% in the month of January and between 6% and 7% compared to a year ago.
Although not all states have published an inflation report, on average even those states considered the least expensive to live in the United States are hit by inflation. States like Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee had a 0.9% rise in January; and 7.8% in the last 12 months. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The cost of living in The United States was already among the 20 most expensive countries to live in, in the world . Now with the inflation rate that does not stop rising, we do not doubt that the position 14 probably climb some rungs.
