According to journalist Óscar Balmen, who had access to secret documents from an investigation carried out by the Secretariat of the National Defense (Sedena), in which On the cover was the name of Senator Enríquez Herrera, who aspired to be governor of Durango, a state that, together with Sinaloa and Chihuahua, forms part of the so-called “ golden triangle ”, the dreamland of drug traffickers and the land where Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was born.
“The document, in the possession of this reporter and verified with sources from the Armed Forces, tells a story of criminal complicity that crosses the opposition parties and reaches even the party of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. No one is saved”, affirms the journalist in a Twitter thread, where he gives details of the investigation.
He also stressed that before becoming a senator, José Ramón Enríquez Herrera was mayor and during a meeting after his electoral victory, he himself told his rivals that “his compadre” financed his campaign. But who was his compadre? Well, it was Gerardo Soberanes Ortiz, “el G-1”, operator of a family identified as Cabrera Sarabia, partner of Mayo Zambada, one of the main leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel.
