Cristiano Ronaldo is, without a doubt, one of the greatest figures in sport. With millions of followers around the world, the Portuguese has become an example and a source of inspiration for many people, athletes and even important personalities on the planet.

Such is the case of Pope Francis, the highest rector within Catholicism, who was able to receive, from Ronaldo’s own mother, a shirt of Ronaldo of the Portugal national team, who received the gift with great enthusiasm.

The moment of the gift was given at the end of the general audience that the The Pope celebrated this Wednesday from the Paul VI Hall, and when the Supreme Pontiff approached to greet the parishioners, Dolores Alveiro, mother of the Manchester United player, gave him the shirt.

After receiving the present from Alveiro, the pontiff blessed t-shirt and thanked Cristiano’s mother for the gesture she had made with him.

Notably It is not the first time that the pope has received objects from important sports personalities, since he has already received a couple of times Lionel Messi’s shirt. The first time when he was still playing for Barcelona and later when the Argentine arrived at PSG.
