Antonio Conte, coach of Tottenham Hotspur, opened the door for Christian Eriksen to return to the London club

, where he played seven seasons.

Eriksen and Conte coincided at Inter Milan, the club to which the Dane left after his stay in London and which released him when he suffered a cardiac arrest in the European Championship.

“ Eriksen is part of Tottenham’s history. Coming back here will be a great opportunity for him, for me and for the club. But now he has signed for Brentford, only for six months. We’ll see what happens next”, said Conte at a press conference.

“I am the first to be happy to see him on the pitch again, because we had good times at Inter”, added the Italian, who won Serie A together with the Danish midfielder in 2021.

Eriksen, who has been training with Brentford for several days, will not be in tonight’s game against Manchester City, as confirmed by his coach, Thomas Frank, who will not gave clues about when the Dane will be able to debut.
