Eugenio Derbez; but that’s not all, since among the competitors is also Carlos López Estrada, son of the renowned television producer Carla Estrada, who was proud of this new achievement by the filmmaker of 33 years.
It was through her official Instagram account, where the creator of successful Televisa soap operas such as ‘Sortilegio’, ‘El Privilegio de amar’ and ‘Amor real’, among many others, congratulated his son for becoming one of the nominees for the Oscar for his work as a director alongside Don Hall in the film ‘Raya and the last dragon’, which is in the category of Best Animated Film.
“Today is a special day, different with many mixed emotions and great pride in knowing that you, my son, have been NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR with your film RAYA. Thank you for these tears of happiness that you provoke in me!!! I love you and admire you. Congratulations!!!“, he wrote at the bottom of the publication.
For his part, Carlos López Estrada shared a publication in which he was grateful for this important achievement in his career.

Who is Carlos López Estrada?
Carlos López Estrada was born on 12 September 1988, trained as a filmmaker, music video director Mexican-American, commercial director, theater director and actor. And it is that, although he was born in Mexico City, he came to live in the United States when he was 04 years, where he completed his professional preparation at the University of Champman, in California.
He debuted in 2017 as a feature film director with Blindspotting, a film that premiered one year later. In 2019, Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed that they would make a feature film in which the name of López Estrada began to shine.
