There are countries in South America that breathe, feel and perspire football, as if it were one more feeling or emotion and that is evidenced every weekend when Thousands of people attend the stadiums to cheer on their teams.

Argentina is one of those countries where the fanaticism of the people reaches levels of religiosity many times toxic that borders on madness of falling into violence between bars.

In the midst of this context, the president of one of the most followed and acclaimed clubs in Argentina is River Plate has presented a construction project to remodel the Monumental Stadium and expand it from the 72 thousand people capacity at 81 thousand locations, which would mean being the largest in South America .

“This work is done from River, putting a lot of financial and economic creativity into it. We have been working on the previous board of directors for many years and today is the time. We know that everyone is waiting for this work and we want to make it possible”

Jorge Brito, President of River Plate

Currently the largest stadium in the South American region is located in Lima, the capital of Peru: the Monumental Stadium, home of the University Club.

At the press conference to present the project, Brito highlighted the importance of this Monday as the first impression of a great history in his country and the region.

But not all has been said, now for the project to become a reality he will have to overcome several obstacles . The first will be the Assembly of Representatives of River Plate Members, who will also evaluate the expected income in case the remodeling is done, they will also propose other sources of money from a sponsor or brand that wants to invest in the Monumental.

They should also talk to government authorities and ensure that the renovations do not violate the law.

River Plate is currently the Argentine club that has won the most first division tournaments with 36, followed by Boca Juniors who add 28. The rivalry between these two institutions is historical and documentaries have even been made of how it feels in society.
