Colorado Police Search for Latino Suspect Who Killed Woman During Church Shooting

Police in Aurora, Colorado, are looking for a man from 30 years that on Friday night he shot and killed a woman e injured two men at a church event. The agency said Sunday that José de Jesús Montoya Villa was the only gunman in the shootings and is still at large.

The forces of order were called to the Faro De Luz Church, around 8: 15 Friday pm after receiving reports that multiple people had been shot.

“Officers located a female from 21 years old, a man of 42 years old and a man of 40 years old, all apparently with gunshot wounds,” Aurora Police Officer Matthew Longshore said in a statement. “The woman was pronounced dead at the scene”.

The two injured men were taken to a nearby hospital where they are convalescing from their injuries, police said. A fourth person was also taken to a hospital for “other medical reasons”.

The preliminary investigation revealed that there was an event in the church with some 15 or 20 people inside the temple, Longshore said. According to the police, Villa was the boyfriend or ex-boyfriend of the murdered woman.

The investigators do not know Villa’s motives for shooting these people and he was no longer at the scene of the shooting when they arrived. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.

The Police Department indicated that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Montoya Villa or the shooting should contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 Dollars.
