WHO asks China for “stronger collaboration” to determine the origin of COVID

The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, transferred the Prime Minister Chinese, Li Keqiang, the “need” for a “stronger collaboration” to determine the origins of the covid-19, and that it is “based on science and evidence”.

In a message posted last night through his official Twitter profile, Tedros thanked Li for his support in “strengthening the WHO” and indicated that he spoke with him about the reinforcement of global vaccination campaigns, to ensure that the 70 % of the global population receive the serum against the coronavirus.

“Solidarity is key to guarantee access and affordability of vaccines“, he added.

After the meeting of the Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs d e China published a statement in which it notes that Tedros stated that “the WHO adheres to scientific principles to investigate the origin of the virus and opposes the politicization” of that process.

For his part, Li called for “unity and cooperation” in the global fight against the SARS-CoV-coronavirus. 2 and agreed on the “importance” of the accessibility and affordable cost of vaccines to “form an immune barrier”.

According to the Chinese premier, the goal should be “to use scientific and technological means to develop effective medicines that help defeat the new coronavirus, the common enemy of humanity , as soon as possible.”

Tedros held another meeting today with the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, who assured that the sale of more than 2,80 million doses of anti-covid vaccines to more than 120 countries and international organizations is “the largest emergency humanitarian operation” that China has launched since its foundation, in 1949, of the People’s Republic.
