Virginia police said the suspect accused of murdering one person and wounding four others in a shooting at a hookah in Blacksburg was arrested.
The man, identified as Jamel Flint, of Roanoke, was arrested this Saturday after of a chase. Details about the arrest are not yet available.
Authorities previously said that they believed Flint fired shots at Melody Hookah Lounge in downtown Blacksburg, in the vicinity of the Virginia Tech campus.
Blacksburg police obtained six felony warrants for the man’s arrest, authorities added. it’s a statement.
Of years, Flint faces first-degree murder charges in the death of Isiah O. Robinson, of 02 years old, a student at Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke.
Also four other counts of attempted murder in the first degree and one count of use of a firearm
, while committing or attempting to commit the murder of the remaining four victims, police reported.
One of the four injured victims is a Virginia Tech student and is recovering, according to Frank Shushok Jr., vice president of student affairs at Virginia Tech.
“ We have been in contact with his family, and they report that his son has no longer had surgery, is recovering and appears to be doing well,” Shushok said in a statement. “We continue to respect the student’s privacy and are grateful for the outpouring of care and support directed toward him.”
