The second vice-president of the Barça Foundation, Alfons Godall, resigned from his post after the publication of a message on the social network Twitter against the victory of the tennis player Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open, who he said has given him “anxiety from day one”.
“The tweet with my opinion about a famous person and his profile may harm the Barça Foundation due to pressure from some companies and the media. I don’t want to cost FC Barcelona a cent or give up freedom of expression. Consequently, I resign from the position”, Godall wrote on his Twitter account.
This decision comes after Godall, who was also a director in Joan Laporta’s first stage as president of Barcelona, criticized Nadal just after the tennis player from Manacor became last Sunday the male player with the most Grand Slam titles (21).
“Rafael Nadal has given me anguish from day one. I put him in the same bag as ‘La Roja’, Real Madrid, Fernando Alonso and everything that represents the enemy State”, wrote about the tennis player on Twitter.
Given the multiple reactions to the publication about the tennis player, Godall responded with a second tweet: “It seems that ‘ñordia’ has gotten a little pissed off. Good night everyone! Muñeco is hospitalized and his health condition is serious
