A year ago, Walmart began to transform many of its stores so that its consumers have a better experience when making purchases and make it easy for them to find the products they need. require without any setback.

“In this omnichannel world, customers want to experience, feel and try items. Our goal is to make them feel amazed when they shop with us,” said Walmart vice president of design, innovation and store experience, Alvis Washington.

Washington added that various design elements to display products that wow customers and, thus, the experience is reinforced when going to make purchases.

According to the executive, the redesign of the stores focused on navigation and the orientation. Currently, there are already about 80 stores renovated with this new design, which helps customers to save time finding what they need.

Walmart specified that the Springdale, Arkansas branch, incubator of the redesign, is an example of the renovation they are doing, where the physical, human and digital design elements were improved. The improvements include lighting, expansion of space and dynamic screens.

The company added that in stores they highlight spaces for brands of interest to consumers, creating engaging experiences. In addition to this, customers can use their mobile devices to read the QR codes

and the screens create opportunities for digital exploration.

Within the redesign of Walmart is the positioning of the clothing department, where they will highlight own and national brands, in order to weigh quality and style. The Babies department will also be renovated, through raised screens the main products are displayed.

Alvis Washington made it clear that Walmart will continue making changes based on customer needs. The executive added that the brand will offer a better and more attractive experience this 2022.

“After all, when customers choose to shop with us, we want them to feel amazed and inspired and that their time is well spent.”
